Road trip idea: Explore farms at the 2025 Monadnock Grown Farm Tour

The 2025 Monadnock Grown Farm Tour invites community members and visitors alike to explore the diverse landscape of New Hampshire agriculture on Aug. 16 from noon – 5 p.m. For just $10/car, attendees will gain access to multiple farms across the Monadnock Region, with proceeds supporting next year’s tour and continued community food system programming.

This self-guided event offers a unique opportunity to meet the farmers who steward our land and produce our food while gaining firsthand insight into the role local farms play in sustaining our economy, preserving open space and enriching our quality of life.

“This is more than just a day out on the farm – it’s a chance to connect with the people and practices that sustain our local food system,” said Roe-Ann Tasoulas, executive director of MFCC. “Each farm reflects the diversity and dedication of our agricultural community, and we’re thrilled to welcome visitors into that experience.”

What to Expect This Year

Each participating farm will feature engaging demonstrations, activities for all ages and opportunities to shop for local products (products not included in admission). Highlights include:

  • Alyson’s Orchard (Walpole) – A 350-acre orchard and award-winning event venue, recognized by Travel + Leisure as one of the Top 12 Orchards in the U.S. Activities include U-pick apples, tractor rides and a playground. Farm store favorites include pies and cider donuts.
  • Bending Branch Farm (Marlborough) – Artisanal dairy producing raw milk, yogurt and chèvre from Alpine goats. Enjoy goat petting and cheese tasting.
  • Crescendo Acres (Surry) – Alpaca fiber farm with a farm shop offering alpaca clothing, maple products and more. Meet alpacas, miniature cows and horses and enjoy maple treats and wreath-making demos.
  • Draft Gratitude (Winchester) – A draft horse rescue where visitors can meet the horses, hear their stories and browse unique items at Barnfinds store.
  • Echo Farm (Hinsdale) – Known for their creamy pudding, this dairy features robotic milking demos, pudding samples and calves to pet.
  • Gemmo Forest (Keene) – A 12.5-acre permaculture farm with guided tours, medicinal plant gardens and scavenger hunts.
  • Goodwin Family Farm (Surry) – A biodiverse family farm with Angora rabbits, goats and mini ponies. Activities include barn tours, scavenger hunts and crafts.
  • Mill Hollow Works (Keene) – A craft school offering artisan skill workshops, greenhouse tours and local produce.
  • Monadnock Berries (Troy) – U-pick berries on a scenic farm with 11,000 bushes. Activities include contests, coloring pages and a farm store stocked with treats (closes at 3:30 p.m.).
  • Slovenian Beekeeping (Harrisville) – Explore Slovenian-style hives, enjoy honey tasting and tour the bee house and gardens.
  • Well-Seeded Gardens (Keene) – Discover a no-till urban micro-farm with companion planting demos and herbal salts for sale.
